New Sponsor for the Michigan Pond Hockey Classic

MANPLOW joins the MPHC as a 2013 Presenting Sponsor

WHITMORE LAKE, Mich. – The Michigan Pond Hockey Classic (MPHC) announces MANPLOW as a Headline Sponsor for the 6th annual pond hockey tournament.

The MANPLOW is an extremely durable shovel that is capable of moving large amounts of snow with ease. It’s EZ Glide Edge is made from High Density Polyethylene. This material is extremely durable, wear resistant and replaceable (PRO Line). The EZ Glide Edge’s wide bottom edge allows for the blade to easily glide over cement seams, aggregate, pavers, decking, damaged or uneven surfaces without the bone jarring stops that eliminate forward momentum.

The 2013 MPHC is taking place Feb 8th-10th on Whitmore Lake in Michigan, promising 3 days of nonstop 4-on-4 hockey action. The games will take place on manicured 75’ x 150’ rinks and will be 30 minutes long with no off-sides, no icing calls and no goalies. This tournament is the largest 4-on-4 pond hockey tournament in Lower Michigan and continues to grow.


Passion for the game is essentially the only criteria to register, that and a minimum age restriction of 18 for men and 18 for women, with both recreational and championship divisions to choose from. Players must organize teams of four to six players in order to be ready for the event. At stake is a chance to play in what continues to be Michigan’s Premiere Pond Hockey Championship!

Players’ who want to experience this one-of-a-kind event that takes you back to playing on backyard rinks and frozen ponds, are encouraged to act quickly. There are only a few openings left and registration is on a first registered, first served basis. You can register online now at Act quickly as late registration starts December 1st and all registration will close entirely December 11th.


The MPHC is a fund raising event for Michigan Pond Hockey Sports Charities.
